SpeedBox 3.2 for Yamaha E-Bike Motors
The SpeedBox 3.2 is a third-generation tuning chip designed for compatible Yamaha e-bike motors.
It removes the standard 25 km/h assistance limit and allows you to set a custom maximum assistance speed. After installation, the e-bike display continues to show actual riding data, including current speed, maximum speed, average speed, distance and remaining range.
This version does not include Bluetooth and is not compatible with the SpeedBox Connect app.

The button sequence allows you to control the SpeedBox independently of the bike’s lights.
Unlimited Maximum Setting
When tuning is active, the standard 25 km/h assistance restriction is removed. A lower custom assistance limit can also be selected when required.

How to Activate the SpeedBox
Press the LIGHT button or enter the following button sequence:
↑ ↓ ↑ ↓
The display will show 9.9 km/h, confirming that tuning has been activated.
On displays that do not support decimal numbers, 9 km/h will be shown instead.
To deactivate tuning, press the LIGHT button or enter the ↑ ↓ ↑ ↓ sequence again.
The display will show 2.5 km/h, confirming that the standard 25 km/h assistance limit has been restored.
On displays without decimal numbers, 2 km/h will be shown instead.
Controlling the SpeedBox Separately From the Lights
Using the LIGHT button may also switch the bike’s lights on or off.
To activate or deactivate the SpeedBox without changing the light setting, use:
↑ ↓ ↑ ↓
This allows independent control of the tuning function and the e-bike lights.
Setting a Custom Assistance Limit
To enter the speed-setting mode:
Change the assistance level three stages down.
Change the assistance level three stages back up.
The currently selected assistance limit will appear on the display.
Change the limit by:
Briefly pressing the LIGHT button
Rotating the rear wheel through one complete revolution
The final displayed setting is saved automatically after five seconds of inactivity.
Installation
The SpeedBox connects directly to the e-bike using clearly identified connectors designed to make installation straightforward.

Installation on a New E-Bike
Before activating the SpeedBox on a brand-new e-bike, ride it for at least 10 km.
This allows the motor and electronic system to complete their initial setup and calibration.
Software Update Warning
We do not recommend updating the Yamaha motor or e-bike software while the SpeedBox is installed.
Software updates may affect compatibility or cause the tuning chip to stop operating correctly. Disable automatic updates where possible.
Warranty Information
Installing or using a tuning chip may affect the e-bike manufacturer’s warranty.
Check the bicycle and motor manufacturer’s warranty conditions before installation.
Important Legal Notice
Installing this product may cause your e-bike to no longer meet the legal definition of an electrically assisted pedal cycle.
A modified e-bike must not be used on UK public roads, cycle paths or other public places unless it has been correctly registered, insured and approved for that use.
This product is intended for use on private land with the landowner’s permission, where legally permitted. Use is entirely at the rider’s own risk.
Always wear suitable protective equipment and make sure the brakes, tyres, frame and other bicycle components are suitable for the intended riding speed.
