SpeedBox 3.2 B.Tuning for Yamaha E-Bike Motors
The SpeedBox 3.2 B.Tuning is a Bluetooth-enabled tuning chip for e-bikes fitted with compatible Yamaha motors.
It removes the standard 25 km/h motor-assistance limit and connects your e-bike to the SpeedBox Connect app. The app allows you to control tuning, adjust the assistance limit and view accurate riding information on your smartphone.

How to Activate the SpeedBox
Tuning can be activated through the SpeedBox Connect app by selecting the tuning-on option.
It can also be activated using the e-bike controller.
Briefly press the LIGHT button. The display will show 9.9 km/h, confirming that tuning is active.
For displays using miles, approximately 6.2 mph may be shown.
Once activated, the standard assistance limit is removed.
How to Deactivate the SpeedBox
Briefly press the LIGHT button again or deactivate tuning through the SpeedBox Connect app.
The display will show 2.5 km/h, confirming that the standard 25 km/h assistance limit has been restored.
For displays using miles, approximately 1.6 mph may be shown.
Using a Controller Without a LIGHT Button
On compatible e-bikes without a LIGHT button, activate or deactivate tuning using:

Enter the same sequence again to switch tuning off.
Setting a Custom Assistance Limit
A custom maximum assistance speed can be selected through the SpeedBox Connect app.
This can be useful when you want to reduce battery consumption or choose a lower assistance limit.
The limit can also be adjusted using the e-bike controller:
Select the highest assistance mode.
Move down through three assistance levels.
Move back up through three assistance levels.
The currently selected limit will appear on the display.
Briefly press the LIGHT button or rotate the rear wheel through one complete revolution to increase the setting.
Displayed examples include:
3.0 km/h: 30 km/h assistance limit
3.5 km/h: 35 km/h assistance limit
4.0 km/h: 40 km/h assistance limit
4.5 km/h: 45 km/h assistance limit
The selected limit is saved automatically after five seconds of inactivity.
Recommendations for Riding and Stopping
To help ensure reliable operation:
During short stops, keep one foot resting on a pedal to help prevent the distance-recalculation countdown from starting.
During longer stops, allow at least part of the countdown to complete.
After a longer ride, the countdown may take several minutes.
Keep the e-bike switched on while the countdown is running.
Do not disconnect the display before the process has finished.
Activate or deactivate tuning before or after riding, not while the bike is moving.
Installation
The SpeedBox connects to the motor using compatible connectors designed to make installation straightforward.

Check the motor, display and bicycle model carefully before fitting.
Installation on a New E-Bike
Before installing or activating the SpeedBox on a brand-new e-bike, ride it for at least 10 km.
This allows the motor and electronic system to complete their initial setup.
Software Update Warning
We do not recommend updating the Yamaha motor, display or e-bike software while the SpeedBox is installed.
Software updates may affect compatibility or cause the tuning chip to stop operating correctly. Disable automatic updates where possible.
Warranty Information
Installing or using a tuning chip may affect the e-bike manufacturer’s warranty.
Faults caused by motor, display or system software updates may not be covered by the SpeedBox product warranty.
Important Legal Notice
Installing this product may cause your e-bike to no longer meet the legal definition of an electrically assisted pedal cycle.
A modified e-bike must not be used on UK public roads, cycle paths or other public places unless it has been correctly registered, insured and approved for that use.
This product is intended for use on private land with the landowner’s permission, where legally permitted. Use is entirely at the rider’s own risk.
