SpeedBox 1.2 for Shimano – +E-Tube Port
The SpeedBox 1.2 is a completely redesigned tuning chip for e-bikes fitted with compatible Shimano motors.
Featuring new hardware, firmware and an updated design, it removes the standard 25 km/h assistance limit and allows the motor to continue providing assistance beyond the factory restriction.
This version does not include Bluetooth and is not compatible with the SpeedBox Connect app.
Which Version Do I Need?
The +E-Tube Port version is intended for e-bikes that do not have a spare E-Tube connection available on the motor.
This version is commonly required for bikes fitted with:
Shimano E5000 motors
Shimano Di2 electronic gear shifting
A Satellite System ON/OFF Switch
Shimano EW-SW100 or EW-SW300 switches
All e-bikes with a Shimano E5000 motor normally require the +E-Tube Port version.
If your motor already has a free E-Tube port, select the standard SpeedBox 1.2 version instead.
Key Features
Removes the 25 km/h Assistance Limit
When activated, the SpeedBox suppresses the factory speed limiter and allows the motor to continue assisting beyond 25 km/h.
Controlled Using the Light Button
The tuning can be controlled using the bike’s LIGHT function:
Lights off: tuning activated
Lights on: tuning deactivated
If you want the tuning to remain active regardless of the light setting, the SpeedBox fork terminal can be connected to the screw terminal marked “-”.
On bikes without an activated light function, the SpeedBox will remain permanently active.
Redesigned Hardware and Firmware
The SpeedBox 1.2 has been redesigned from the ground up with new internal hardware, firmware and construction for compatible Shimano e-bike systems.

Installation on a New E-Bike
Before installing or activating the SpeedBox on a brand-new e-bike, ride the bike for at least 10 km.
This allows the motor and electronic system to complete their initial setup and calibration.
Important Software Information
We do not recommend updating the Shimano e-bike software while the SpeedBox is installed.
Automatic updates should be disabled where possible, as future manufacturer software changes may affect compatibility or operation.
