SpeedBox 1.2 for Shimano – +E-Tube Port
The SpeedBox 1.2 is a completely redesigned tuning chip for compatible Shimano e-bike motors.
With new hardware, firmware and an updated design, it removes the standard 25 km/h motor assistance limit and allows assistance to continue beyond the factory restriction.
This is the non-Bluetooth version and is not compatible with the SpeedBox Connect app.
Do I Need the +E-Tube Port Version?
The standard SpeedBox 1.2 requires one free E-Tube port on the motor.
Choose the +E-Tube Port version when your e-bike does not have a spare E-Tube port available.
This is usually required for e-bikes fitted with:
Shimano E5000 motors
Shimano Di2 electronic gear shifting
A Satellite System ON/OFF Switch
Shimano EW-SW100 or EW-SW300 switches
All e-bikes fitted with a Shimano E5000 motor will normally require the +E-Tube Port version.
If your motor has a free E-Tube port, choose the standard SpeedBox 1.2 instead.
Key Features
Removes the 25 km/h Assistance Limit
When activated, the SpeedBox suppresses the factory speed limiter and allows motor assistance to continue beyond 25 km/h.
Controlled Through the Light Function
The SpeedBox is controlled using the e-bike’s LIGHT button:
Lights off: SpeedBox activated
Lights on: SpeedBox deactivated
To keep tuning permanently active regardless of the light setting, connect the SpeedBox fork terminal to the screw terminal marked “-”.
If the light function is not activated on your e-bike, the SpeedBox will remain active at all times.
Redesigned Hardware and Firmware
The SpeedBox 1.2 has been redesigned from the ground up with new internal hardware, updated firmware and a new construction developed for compatible Shimano systems.
Straightforward Installation
SpeedBox uses original-style connectors to help provide a secure and reliable connection.
Detailed instructions and installation videos are available to guide you through both installation and removal.
